Discovering the Art of

Over the
last few years, I become very interested in Inquiry-Based-Learning
(IBL) and now use it almost exclusively in all my classes. I very
strongly believe that IBL techniques can help boost student confidence,
achievement and interest in mathematics. As a result, I very rarely
lecture in my classes anymore. I believe that students learn
mathematics best when they are actively doing mathematics, so I see my
role in the classroom to be a guide or coach, helping my students work
through the material instead of the “sage on the stage” who tells my
students what to do. |
