Here we collect the many different areas in which sliceforms and sliceform-like objects arise.
Perhaps the most spectacular is the Metropol Parasol in Seville, Spain which opened in April, 2011. It is the largest wooden structure in the world. It provides shade (thus parasol) and a wonderful open-air meeting place in the center of the city.

Sliceforms bear a wonderful resemblance to balsa wood model airplane wings and torsion boxes that are built by woodworkers. Both require great strength and rigidity.
